It's good but has some serious flaws, but I'll give them this each episode has been more ambitious than the last. I think it's spread due more to its story, style, concept, and targeting it's demographic well more than the actual gameplay, but that's not even to say the game is bad. The games actually are not defenseless horror games most of the time as you do have a weapon and there's combat (though one stalker enemy you cannot kill as of yet in the story), but the combat has its pros and cons. Episode 3 is my favorite of the three episodes so far, but it also has the biggest flaws of all three episodes thus far so it's an interesting predicament. I've played episodes 1-3, there's to like about them for sure but frankly the game's also have a few flaws. Here's two I get occasionally stuck in my head that are essentially official (both of these songs appear in the game in some form). Interesting way how they spread their game, though frankly some of the music in them is quite catchy so I can see why. The most popular Bendy and the Ink Machine music video has, no joke, over 70,000,000 views at this point, and most have over 15,000,000 views. There's a few dozens of Bendy and the Ink Machine music videos that really spread the game with its target demographic. I'm not kidding, the studio was smart and worked with several YouTubers to make songs for the game (some of which appear in the game) to help spread the game, and it worked.

Game spread in popularity due to of all things music videos. That's on surface level, it's surprisingly deeper and more interesting than that, but won't delve into it for spoilers. Skipping a few steps here, but he activates something called the 'Ink Machine', and we quickly discover that some of the old members of the studio stuck around and created something like a cult to their cartoon franchise, the creator of Bendy seems to think he was tapping into some other world for his creative drive and now is determined to bring Bendy into their reality. 30-or-so years later one of his old colleagues sends a letter to him asking him to come by the old studio, he decides to come out of curiosity and is surprised to find the studio still up and running despite it not being in service for so long, but in a state of disrepair. Our main character was an animator there in his 20s and left the studio on its closing to do other work. The game is about an animation studio who 'unofficially' was one of Disney's competitors in the early 1900s, but died out to their competition. It's an episodic game, and currently 3/5 episodes have released with the fourth episode coming within the next few months. For the record of anyone who doesn't know, Bendy and the Ink Machine is a pretty huge 'teen horror' (as I'll call it, as in horror directed at teens not a game starring teens, funnily enough the actual protagonist is 50+ years old as he was an animator in his 20s who left a company and comes back to the studio 30-years later on a message from an old friend) of 2017.
